Division DescriptionThe Financing Division at CalHFA is responsible for the Agency's financing activities. This includes planning and supervising bond and note sales, managing and issuing outstanding bonds and other debt obligations, and providing continuing disclosure to bond investors. The division also manages financial agreements related to variable rate debt, including interest rate swap contracts, liquidity agreements, remarketing agreements, and the investment of Agency funds. Additionally, the division monitors cash flow requirements of Agency operating funds and bond indentures, and ensures the long-term liquidity of the Agency.
Position SummaryUnder the administrative direction of the Director of Financing, the Credit Officer is responsible for comprehensive credit management and risk assessment related to the Agency's various financing and lending programs. The Credit Officer maintains the credit quality of the lending portfolio and recommends strategies for loss mitigation in alignment with the Agency's overall risk management framework and credit policy development, implementation, and monitoring.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Agency guidelines.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessments for multifamily lending transactions, including review of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective credit management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on credit policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in multifamily lending and credit risk management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of multifamily lending and credit risk management principles and practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
