Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Banking Credit Analyst Intern to join our team at BMO Financial Group. As a Credit Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in credit analysis and risk assessment, working closely with experienced leaders in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the analysis of credit information to support lending decisions and processes
  • Maintain and promote a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client capital and credit risk
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information
  • Develop credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans
  • Assist in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically 3-5 years of previous Commercial Loan and Credit analyst experience required; however, as part of the BMO campus program, we are looking for motivated students with a strong desire to learn
  • In-depth specific functional knowledge and broad business knowledge

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the Internet
