Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner

Nuvance Health Medical Group is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Employee Health Services Department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Responsibilities- Provide medical care in an occupational health setting, including acute care, follow-up care, and medical surveillance examinations for employees in the Vassar Hospital area.
- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses, handle injury case management, and develop plans to return employees to the workplace.
- Conduct post-offer physical examinations, periodic and medical surveillance examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Communicate with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment, and perform periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
- Work closely with the department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules, patient flow patterns, and other general duties.
- A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field, NY State NP/PA license, Federal DEA Registration, and Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care.
- ATLS, ACLS, and BLS certification are required, with ATLS training scheduled as necessary.
- Hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with no nights, weekends, or call.
