Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Nuvance Health Medical Group is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Employee Health Services Department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Responsibilities- Provide medical care in an occupational health setting, including acute care, follow-up care, and medical surveillance examinations for employees in the Vassar Hospital area.
- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses, handle injury case management, and develop plans to return employees to the workplace.
- Conduct post-offer physical examinations, periodic and medical surveillance examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Communicate with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment, perform periodic case review to monitor quality of care, and work closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules and patient flow patterns.
- Conduct ergonomic and safety work site evaluations and fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- A minimum of a graduate degree from an approved PA program or Master's degree in a related field, NY State NP/PA license, Federal DEA Registration, and Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care, with ATLS, ACLS, and BLS certification required.
