Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Nuvance Health Medical Group is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Employee Health Services Department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical care in an occupational health setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses in an occupational health setting
- Develop and implement plans to return employees to the workplace
- Conduct post-offer physical examinations and periodic medical surveillance examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
- Communicate with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment
- Perform periodic case review to monitor quality of care
- Work closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules, patient flow patterns, and other general duties
- Conduct ergonomic and safety work site evaluations
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position
- Master's degree in a relevant field or graduate of an approved PA program
- NY State NP/PA license and Federal DEA registration
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Prior experience in occupational medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care
- ATLS, ACLS, and BLS certification
