Per Diem Employee Health Nurse

Provides clinical leadership and expertise in primary care. This position is accountable for assuring quality medical care for employees within the workplace and pre-employed individuals looking to join the organization.
Responsibilities- Provides clinical leadership and expertise in primary care.
- Assesses, monitors, and implements supportive nursing care, health counseling, and education to patients related to workplace injuries and employee illnesses occurring in the workplace.
- Communicates with all levels of management and Human Resources, as well as third-party vendors.
- Conducts initial assessments of Workers' Compensation injuries and administers first aid when necessary.
- Conducts pre-employment screenings, including scheduling, exam preparation, specimen collection, result follow-up, medical record notes, and interdepartmental communications.
- Administers immunizations and PPDs as required.
- Takes and records vital signs and requests laboratory results.
- Assists medical providers with procedures as requested.
- Performs return-to-work exams.
- Collaborates with department managers and/or Human Resources regarding documented employee restrictions and requests for accommodations.
- Maintains, stocks, and orders medical supply inventory.
- Communicates across all levels of the organization, as well as network-sanctioned third-party vendors.
- Demonstrates compassion while remaining objective.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and full compliance with HIPAA, network policies, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Three years of hands-on nursing experience.
- Excellent customer service skills, good phone skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrates compassion while remaining objective.
- Some manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
- Some occupational risk.
- Medium to heavy effort. May exert up to 35 pounds of force.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
