The Kitchen Department plays a crucial role in achieving this vision by ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our production line. As an Evening Kitchen Team Leader, you will be responsible for guiding a dedicated team in the preparation of ingredients, adherence to recipes, and monitoring of cooking processes. You will also identify opportunities for continuous improvement and collaborate with various teams to address challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster the growth and development of team members by identifying individual training needs and addressing them proactively.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and overtime of team members, providing timely feedback to those needing improvement.
  • Optimize staffing levels to minimize labor costs while maintaining productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback, implementing development plans for team members as necessary.
  • Oversee payroll submissions and ensure accuracy.
  • Guide and mentor team leads, enhancing their supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Create and manage employee schedules to meet production demands.
  • Encourage team members to halt processes when quality concerns arise.
  • Assess team members' readiness for skill development and increased responsibilities.
  • Lead problem-solving discussions to engage team members in finding solutions to production challenges.
  • Provide regular feedback to motivate and enhance individual performance.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for both temporary and permanent positions.
  • Inspire and lead the team to achieve and surpass operational goals.
  • Approve time-off requests and manage scheduling changes as needed.
  • Regularly review production schedules to align with demand.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met and that no substandard items are processed.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with established procedures and provide positive reinforcement for adherence.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues promptly.
  • Document processes for training and standardization purposes, updating standard operating procedures as necessary.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues related to quality, safety, and production.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records for all employees.
  • Compile weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage with team members regularly to discuss performance against set objectives.

As a leader in our kitchen, you will uphold the mission of Amy's Kitchen by adhering to our Food Safety and Quality Policy, ensuring compliance with all food safety and sustainability protocols.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise kitchen staff effectively.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or four years of relevant experience in food production or manufacturing.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Strong active listening skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse individuals. Approachable and empathetic, with a focus on maintaining respect and self-esteem among team members.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Inspire others with positive messaging and provide clear direction to help achieve team goals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to document procedures and manage spreadsheets.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to analyze production standards and efficiencies.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense and critical thinking to solve problems and improve processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
