Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the safe and effective delivery of patient care services in our clinical operations team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for daily operations, clinical education, supervision and development of staff, performance improvement, and enhancement of the profitability of assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage staff, assign and delegate responsibilities within the scope of practice to licensed and unlicensed healthcare providers.
  • Oversee daily operations and lead department using shared governance model and Lean principles of management.
  • Use expert knowledge, clinical skills, and critical thinking to manage daily delivery of support services, ensuring implementation of clinical processes and coordinating/improving an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Ensure efficient levels of clinical efficiency and services for all customers.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, evaluation, and human resource management functions of staff.
  • Develop goals and operations/business plans for clinical operations, in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Establish and maintain patient care standards, ensuring patient care functions are completed safely and effectively.
  • Ensure Nursing Standards of Practice and best standard methodologies are implemented.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and document orientation and appraisal processes for clinical operations staff.
  • Conduct formal and informal evaluations of staff proficiency, determining staff educational needs, and providing structured assistance in areas needing improvement.
  • Provide staff training, as needed, both informally and in formal in-service presentations.
  • Act as an expert of the electronic medical record, training new staff, implementing new functionality, and providing ongoing direction for system utilization.
  • Assist the Senior Clinical Operations Manager in developing and managing the budget for responsible services.
  • Ensure compliance with drug safety and administration guidelines.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Forecast and plan for appropriate resource utilization.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred; Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN certification) preferred.
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience, three (3) of which is in an inpatient or outpatient clinical setting required.
