Position Overview
SAIC is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to contribute to a dynamic aerospace program. This role necessitates an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The selected candidate will provide System Engineering expertise to the Government, focusing on the management of risks, issues, and opportunities across the Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and/or facilitate risk assessment meetings, monitoring technical risks associated with the Enterprise and launch vehicles.
- Collaborate with Government system engineering processes, offering technical support to the Enterprise Management Framework.
- Integrate system engineering solutions throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Deliver critical system engineering services to government clients, ensuring effective execution of the Enterprise Management Framework.
- Address all facets of system engineering, from the initial identification of risks and opportunities to corporate-level decision-making processes.
- Guide the management of risks, opportunities, and issues that influence corporate-level decisions, providing technical support for System Engineering meetings and status updates.
- Offer technical assistance to government clients regarding launch vehicle capability tracking and evolution, ensuring alignment with mission requirements and comprehensive risk management across the fleet.
- Develop and implement cross-program system engineering standards for the Enterprise Management Framework.
- Collaborate with the CLSIC team to provide system engineering insights to mission integrators and capability managers, enhancing execution and oversight of new initiatives.
- Review and evaluate key System Engineering documentation.
- Prepare and present technical assessments for leadership reviews.
- Generate integrated risk status reports and presentations for weekly meetings.
- Coordinate and deliver documentation for all major System Engineering Reviews within the Enterprise.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with seven (7) years; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of experience.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in space launch operations.
- At least eight (8) years of experience in government system engineering.
Required Skills:
- Proven ability to establish productive working relationships with various government agencies and mission partners.
- In-depth knowledge of the system engineering process, including risk and opportunity management, and integration of system engineering issues across programs.
- Familiarity with risk management tools and data sharing platforms (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint).
