Parkland Health & Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner II to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our NICU, you will provide exceptional care to critically ill newborns and their families. The estimated annual salary for this position is $90,000-$110,000.

About the Role:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner II plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This includes developing and implementing individualized care plans, educating patients and families about health management, and arranging follow-up appointments as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Practice: Provides direct patient care services, including obtaining histories, performing physical exams, assessing conditions, ordering diagnostic tests, determining diagnoses, and planning care.
  2. Collaboration and Communication: Works effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  3. Professional Development: Participates in continuing education activities, including seminars, workshops, and professional journal articles, to stay current with the latest developments and advancements in neonatology.
  4. Quality Improvement: Collaborates with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implements changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements:

  • A current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in neonatology.
