About the Role:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner II is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and referrals. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This includes developing and implementing individualized care plans, educating patients and families about health management, and arranging follow-up appointments as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Practice: Provides direct patient care services, including obtaining histories, performing physical exams, assessing conditions, ordering diagnostic tests, determining diagnoses, and planning care.
  2. Leadership and Mentorship: Serves as a role model and mentor for junior staff and APP students, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and career development.
  3. Professional Development: Participates in continuing education activities, including seminars, workshops, and professional journal articles, to stay current with the latest developments and advancements in neonatology.
  4. Quality Improvement: Collaborates with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implements changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements:

  • A current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in neonatology.
