Job Overview

Denver Transit Operators (DTO) is a well-established organization dedicated to operating and maintaining the commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for the planning, execution, and management of our IT system integrations, focusing on the configuration, upkeep, and validation of our servers, network, and security infrastructure.

This is a full-time role with a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000 annually, with the potential for higher compensation based on experience.

Position Overview:

The IT Systems Engineer will oversee the configuration and maintenance of our servers and network systems. This position will collaborate with the IT Manager on various IT projects and provide support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain VM Ware environments, including creating, testing, and updating Windows settings, firewalls, Active Directory user accounts, and group policies.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues by analyzing logs and exception files related to applications and software.
  • Set up and configure servers that work in conjunction with other applications.
  • Design and implement new controls and indicators within the CAD system.
  • Establish and maintain communication systems between local applications and devices.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify positive train control (PTC) issues.
  • Oversee data backup and recovery systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with CAD system software, particularly Wabtec TMDS, with knowledge of control, communication, CODE, and BOS servers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and data evaluation skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet departmental objectives.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining various physical positions.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. and successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
