Overview:
Under the guidance of senior leadership, the Laboratory Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing research initiatives focused on neurodegenerative diseases while managing the day-to-day functions of the Alzheimer Research Laboratories. Key responsibilities encompass maintaining laboratory equipment, managing inventory, ensuring adherence to protocols, procurement, and overseeing animal research protocols. The role also includes supervising technical staff, aiding in recruitment processes, and troubleshooting technical challenges within the lab environment. Furthermore, the Supervisor will conduct experiments, execute assays, and facilitate the onboarding of new laboratory personnel.
Key Responsibilities:- Directs research initiatives and collaborative efforts
- Oversees personnel within the Alzheimer Research Laboratories
- Participates in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective candidates
- Coordinates training for new staff and researchers
- Guides technical operations and supports junior researchers
- Independently conducts experiments and contributes innovative ideas

Documentation Responsibilities:

- Manages the procurement of laboratory supplies and upkeep of facilities
Responsible for supervising technical staff, coordinating projects, and acting as a Safety Officer within the unit.
Financial Responsibilities:
Accountable for ordering laboratory supplies, managing budget allocations, and collaborating with senior personnel on financial matters.
Work Environment:Situated within a well-equipped research facility, the laboratory is designed to support a variety of scientific investigations.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Proven experience in histological techniques, microscopy, and molecular biology
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Familiarity with data management software and data analysis
- High proficiency in computer applications and meticulous attention to detail
- Prior supervisory experience is advantageous
A Bachelor of Science degree is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
