About the Role:

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to serve as the Managing Director of Pennovation Works, a 23-acre innovation and entrepreneurship campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall direction and strategy of the campus, including its operations, programming, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Direction: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for Pennovation Works, aligning with the University's goals and objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the campus, including facilities management, event planning, and vendor management.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Foster and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including University departments, industry partners, and community organizations.
  • Programming and Events: Develop and implement a robust programming schedule, including workshops, conferences, and networking events, to support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
  • Marketing and Communications: Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy to promote Pennovation Works and its programs to a wide audience.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of the campus, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-10 Years of Experience: 7-10 years of experience in a related field, including leadership and management experience.
  • Leadership and Management Experience: Proven leadership and management experience, including experience in strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the innovation and entrepreneurship industry, including experience in startup development, venture capital, and industry partnerships.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in public speaking, writing, and presentation.
