Job Description

Position Title: Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician

Location: Houston, TX

Position Overview:

The NDT Technician will report directly to the Quality Manager and will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of materials through nondestructive testing methods. Responsibilities include the setup and calibration of testing apparatus, execution of material evaluations, interpretation of test results, and documentation of findings in accordance with client specifications.

This role requires travel to various client sites within the Houston area on a contract basis. Please note that this position is intended for local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, interpret findings, and document results in alignment with company protocols.
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing instruments.
  • Perform NDT evaluations to verify quality and identify defects using established inspection techniques.
  • Develop methodologies for thorough examination of materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards and client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of Level II ASNT 9712 Certification for Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant methods or an equivalent certification per ISO 9712:2021.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously at client facilities.

Educational Background:

  • A combination of relevant certifications, education, and experience that meets the qualifications outlined in ISO 9712:2021 for NDT personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel within the Houston area.
  • Work is primarily conducted in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must be capable of exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Frequent standing and walking are required, along with the ability to bend, crouch, or climb for extended periods.
