Level III Rope Access Technician

Oceaneering is a global company that provides engineered services and products to the offshore energy industry. Role Overview
As a key member of our team, you will lead field and offshore operations alongside rope access technicians. Your responsibilities will encompass safety management, work site organization, supervisory tasks, and providing guidance to work crews on diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
- Conduct inspections on offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Inspect materials and products for defects, anomalies, or damage.
- Collaborate with Oceaneering project managers and customers to maintain workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Perform cathodic potential (CP) readings using specified techniques.
- Create drawings to support written data.
- Oversee equipment inspections and replacements, as well as logistical tasks for readiness maintenance.
- Be prepared for out-of-town or overseas travel with possible short notice.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to team members during offshore assignments.
- Act as a Level III Rope Access Supervisor and manage projects while working offshore.
- Adhere to OII global Standard Operating Procedures, IRATA Code of Practice, and Global RA Manager's instructions.
- Maintain IRATA Level III certification through recertification.
- Prepare project reports.
- Promote safety excellence consistently.
- Actively contribute to safety, quality, and regulatory processes.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
REQUIRED
- Minimum 3 years of experience in rope access.
- Hold IRATA Level III certification.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Obtain necessary certifications:
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
- Safe Gulf Training
- Valid passport
- Current first aid & CPR qualification.
- Meet company certification standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience in Inspection and/or non-destructive testing (NDT).
- ASNT Level II certifications.
- Petzl - PPE Training & Inspection Certification.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This role involves OFFSHORE WORK, characterized by:
- Activity both outdoors and indoors, day and night, near or over water.
- Occasional work in confined spaces.
- Working around moving and vibrating equipment.
- High humidity, noise levels, intense lighting, and potential exposure to fire/sparks.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
- Working on stable surfaces at elevated heights.
The physical demands of this role are:
- Occasional lifting of specified weights.
- Mobility in confined areas and various physical movements.
- Color differentiation and proper PPE for skin and eye protection.
- Frequent lifting within defined weight ranges.
- Various physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, etc.
- Continuous standing and walking with the necessary protective gear.
