Role Overview

The Maintenance Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Team Manager assigned to the respective shift. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to engineering faults, conducting both reactive and planned maintenance activities, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives within our state-of-the-art automated Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Addressing mechanical and electrical breakdowns, troubleshooting to identify faults, analyzing issues, and executing repairs promptly to minimize operational downtime.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work activities, tasks performed, and parts utilized.
  • Conducting assembly and sub-assembly repairs by adhering to written instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Collaborating with fellow Maintenance Engineers to enhance machine reliability on existing and new equipment, diagnosing breakdowns, and ensuring that labor direction and planned engineering activities align with operational support.
  • Providing first-line support to operations by monitoring the activities and efficiency of the Grid and Robots, escalating issues to Engineering Operations for further inspection.
  • Investigating any operational stoppages on the grid and resolving them, including escalating to off-site support and remotely connecting to the Robots.
  • Monitoring the status of both Robots and the physical grid, including investigating locked grid cells and overall Robot health.
  • Conducting quality inspections to ensure that all work is completed to safety standards.
This job description provides a summary of typical functions of the role and is not an exhaustive list of all possible responsibilities. Duties may vary and additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

If hired for a site in the initial stages of operation, the first 6 to 9 months will involve training, which may require travel to other sites for knowledge acquisition.
