The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to join the Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH). As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief of Staff will play a critical role in overseeing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement systems to promote efficiency, equity, and effectiveness in the Office's work.
- Oversee and manage special projects to ensure timely completion and alignment with the Office's goals.
- Ensure intra-office coordination and communication, promoting positive relationships between teams.
- Act as an advisor to the Executive Director and executive leadership team, representing the Office in internal and external meetings.
- Coordinate and finalize briefings for the Executive Director and key stakeholders.
- Support internal and external stakeholder communications, serving as a liaison with City Hall, City agencies, community advocates, elected officials, and civic organizations.
- Oversee events led by the Office, providing direction on strategies and attendees.
- Support hiring and personnel matters for the Office.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in public administration or related field with specialty in health or social services planning, or related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant systems planning experience in government or health care industry, with at least one (1) year at the senior supervisory level.
- Or, a Baccalaureate Degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience, with at least one (1) year at the senior supervisory level.
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

The Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH) plays a critical role in advancing mental health services and policies in the community. The Office coordinates and develops citywide policies and strategies to fill critical gaps in mental healthcare, working with City agencies to reduce barriers to mental health care for underserved communities.
