Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Assistant Unit Chief to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. The successful candidate will provide clinical-administrative support with the coordination and management of mental healthcare delivery in buildings with a high concentration of mental health therapeutic housing units.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines. They will be responsible for ensuring the provision of mental health services within the timeframes and quality benchmarks outlined by CHS MH policies, as well as providing clinical-administrative support to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily management of facility operations and MH programming
  • Responsible for patient location tracking and reconciliation of pending transfers
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of THU suicide watches and census
  • Review self-injury reports and ensure timely completion of uniform notifications and targeted evaluations
  • Support operational scheduling and implementation of mental health programs
  • Complete state summaries for assigned facilities
  • Facilitate proper completion of incident reports
  • Cover for Mental Health Unit Chief when out of the office

Requirements:

  • LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, Ph.D or Psy.D in Psychology
  • New York State license in good standing
  • Two years clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience with mental health personnel
