Theatre Operations Manager

About the Role:
The Boston Center for the Arts is seeking a highly skilled Theatre Production Manager to oversee the physical operations of our theatre and rehearsal spaces. This is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventories and order specialized supplies in collaboration with the Operations department and Theatre Team.
- Maintain floor plans, instruction manuals, protocols, and procedures for physical operations in theatre and rehearsal venues.
- Assess and provide approval for technical and physical elements in productions/events happening on theatrical and rehearsal venues on campus.
- Support BCA produced events and programs.
- Attend meetings and serve on teams as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years in a Production Management role.
- Proven effectiveness as a manager of staff, including knowledge of professional development, performance appraisal, and equity, diversity, and inclusion practices.
- Familiarity with construction practices and laws governing historic and public buildings' construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for regular contact with professional peers, staff, patrons, contractors, and city officials.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom/Google Meet, and CAD software.
