We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Aide to join our team at Project Renewal. As a Residential Aide, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being in our homeless shelters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor residents' activities and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Conduct hourly inspections of the facility and neighborhood, documenting and reporting any incidents
  • Assist in planning and organizing recreational activities, events, and outings
  • Provide clothing and personal care items to residents, ensuring they are out of dormitories according to policies and procedures
  • Remind residents of their daily schedules and assist with daily living skills
  • Process new resident intake information, maintain daily census records, and provide DHS with daily census figures
  • Secure residents' personal property and maintain an inventory of their belongings
  • Observe residents' behavior, reporting any unusual behavior to case management and clinical staff
  • Oversee the shelter at night, responding to requests from awake residents
  • Work collaboratively with Program Aides/Case Managers to provide crisis intervention in emergencies
  • Complete electronic shift summaries and incident reports
  • Assist in the cafeteria with meal service to residents
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience working with homeless mentally ill adults or other special needs populations
  • Excellent oral, writing, and listening skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially email, Word, and Excel; computer literate
  • Bilingual or multilingual a plus

All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
