Packaging Operations Specialist

Key Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a regulated packaging setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) is essential.
  • Basic documentation skills, including familiarity with electronic communication.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and bending throughout the shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate diverse packaging line machinery and manage material handling tasks.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Conduct packaging operations in compliance with approved documentation.
  • React to alarms according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during packaging activities.
  • Carry out cleaning processes for packaging equipment and change parts.
  • Maintain accurate logs for rooms and equipment.
  • Verify cleanliness and perform line clearance on packaging machinery and lines.

Maintain an organized and tidy workspace during packaging operations.

Prepare and transfer necessary packaging materials and bulk products.

Conduct checks and verifications of packaging components and bulk products as outlined in the packaging batch records.

Complete required documentation in the packaging batch records as necessary.

Stack finished goods onto pallets, secure them with shrink wrap, and transfer to storage.

Supply packaging components and bulk products to various packaging machines.

Dispose of all unused or discarded materials appropriately.

Operate palletizers and pallet jacks as needed.

Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements including cGMP, DEA, OSHA, and EHS.

Communicate effectively with team members regarding any arising issues.

Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills, a sense of urgency regarding quality, and a collaborative team spirit, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Assist in training fellow Material Handlers and Packaging Operators.

Perform additional related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
