Packaging Operations Associate

Key Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a packaging environment regulated by the FDA is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) is essential.
  • Familiarity with documentation practices; basic computer skills for communication are beneficial.
  • Ability to perform tasks that may involve standing, stooping, and bending throughout the shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of packaging line machinery and handle materials effectively.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Carry out packaging operations in line with approved documentation.
  • Respond to alarms as per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during packaging activities.
  • Conduct cleaning processes for packaging equipment and change parts as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate logs for rooms and equipment.
  • Verify cleanliness and perform line clearance on packaging equipment and lines.

Maintain an organized and tidy workspace during packaging operations.

Stage and transfer necessary packaging materials and bulk products.

Conduct checks and verifications of packaging components and bulk products in accordance with batch records and protocols.

Ensure all checks and required documentation are completed in the packaging batch records as necessary.

Stack finished goods onto pallets, shrink-wrap them, and prepare for transfer to the warehouse.

Provide packaging components and bulk products to various packaging machines.

Dispose of all unused or discarded materials appropriately.

Operate palletizers and pallet jacks as required.

Adhere to company policies, SOPs, cGMP, DEA, OSHA, and EHS regulations.

Communicate effectively with team members regarding any issues that may arise.

Demonstrate effective verbal communication skills, a sense of urgency regarding quality, and a collaborative team spirit while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Assist in training other Material Handlers and Packaging Operators.

Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
