Fiscal Analyst Senior Job Description

The Maricopa Community College District (MCCCD) is seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Analyst Senior to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize budget system, financial system, and human resource system to perform highly complex financial and statistical analyses and reporting.
  • Handle complex financial analysis and make recommendations on accounting corrections/adjustments within the enterprise financial analysis.
  • Assist in the development of federal grants and prepare budget allocations, transfers, and monitor operating budget ensuring compliance.
  • Communicate and collaborate with District office division, and sub-recipients' fiscal office regarding budget and position management.
  • Provide guidance and support to DoD APEX Federal grant, Arizona Commerce Authority grant funds, and other State and Federal funding as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in finance, accounting, or a directly related field.
  • Four years of experience providing advanced professional financial analysis and support for assigned function of finance, payroll, or budgeting related to the area of assignment.
  • Minimum of four years' experience applying, interpreting, and providing guidance of general and grants budget principles, practices, and policies at the institution level.
  • Minimum of four years' experience creating reports and using data to track, analyze, and present fiscal outcomes.
  • Minimum of four years' experience handling day-to-day financial management tasks in support of large department or division operations to include: budget understanding/preparation, procurement task management, transaction reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial, budgeting, and reporting systems and tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy, making sound, independent decisions in a timely manner using a high level of judgment, including experience and proficiency with database software to retrieve data for reporting and data manipulation purposes.
  • Experience in building relationships and working effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of Federal grants policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
