Job Summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor RN to oversee the daily operations of our Kirkland Primary Care outpatient clinic section. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal patient flow and allocation of resources to meet demand for services with available staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the work of clinic staff to ensure smooth flow of outpatient clinic operations.
  • Develop, modify, implement, and evaluate operational processes for the section.
  • Assign and change priorities within the work unit to assure exceptional customer service.
  • Act as a resource to staff, providers, and other personnel for all daily operational needs.
  • Support the patient scheduling process, assessing patient flow and supply ordering.
  • Manage service schedules to enhance productivity and staff, exam room and/or equipment utilization.
  • Handle day-to-day patient satisfaction concerns.
  • Recruit, hire, train, discipline, and supervise staff (approximately 18-24 Medical Assistants and Nurses), including completion of performance evaluations and competency assessments.
  • Maintain and update staff procedure manuals, staff training programs, and quality assurance programs.
  • Assist manager with budget development and management.
  • Ensure cost-effective daily operations and allocation of clinic to optimize available staff with demand for service.
  • Participate in improvement projects focused on achievement of annual goals and lean initiatives; ensure implementation of and adherence to improvement changes.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory agency requirements for facilities, care, and staff.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse.
  • One year of increasingly responsible healthcare operations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize the demands of daily operations and organize resources required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, active listening skills, and conflict mediation ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and build effective teams.
  • Occasional on-call responsibility for Saturday leadership coverage.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related area preferred.
  • At least one year of charge RN experience with increasing responsibilities.
