Position Summary:

The role involves developing and maintaining capacity models for the manufacturing department at FDMX. This position requires close collaboration with design and manufacturing engineering teams to facilitate the launch of new products and equipment. The individual will lead lean systems training initiatives and champion operational excellence within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include providing hands-on training in methodologies such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual capacity assessments and ensure the accuracy of Standard Work Combination Sheets (SWCS).
  • Maintain capacity tools and ensure stakeholder training for on-the-spot reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on time observations for equipment implementation.
  • Manage equipment location processes and coordinate moves as necessary.
  • Act as a project lead on cross-functional teams for special initiatives.
  • Recommend equipment and process requirements for new or existing product lines.
  • Support ergonomic improvement efforts in collaboration with EH&S.
  • Create CAD layouts and workflow simulation models.
  • Work with various departments to enhance work area layouts.
  • Engage with the PRINT Steering Committee to identify projects that enhance Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
  • Develop process documentation to ensure clarity and control in methods.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive PRINT projects and training programs.
  • Standardize the PRINT program and facilitate events that promote the development of manufacturing personnel.
  • Develop training materials and deliver them effectively to ensure understanding of Continuous Improvement (CI) concepts.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and monitor progress to ensure timely and sustained results.
  • Resolve implementation challenges for manufacturing personnel in collaboration with the PRINT steering committee.
  • Support the motivation, coaching, and development of personnel across departments.
  • Present Kaizen results at CI meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Create a rewards program for completed Kaizen events to enhance throughput.
  • Navigate constraints related to timelines, budgets, and project scopes while adhering to engineering methodologies.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to gain cross-functional support.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and write routine reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform tasks in both office and manufacturing environments, including standing, walking, and lifting as necessary.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes an office setting, light industrial areas, and clean room manufacturing spaces.
