We are seeking a highly skilled Downstream Process Scientist to join our dynamic team at Repligen. As a key member of our biopharmaceutical development team, you will play a crucial role in testing affinity resins derived from our proprietary affinity ligand discovery platform, with a focus on developing and optimizing downstream processes for the purification of biopharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities- Rapid Development of Affinity Chromatography Methods: Develop and optimize affinity chromatography purification methods for various biopharmaceuticals, ensuring scalability and efficiency, with an emphasis on high-throughput screening techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Ligand Discovery, Analytical Sciences, and Resin Manufacturing, to ensure project success.
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to affinity resin performance and characterization, with a general working knowledge of cutting-edge biotherapeutic molecules.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior scientists and technicians within the downstream process development team.
- Education: PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 0-3 years (PhD) or 2-5 years (Master's) of experience in downstream process development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in chromatography, filtration, ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF), and other downstream purification techniques.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information and collaborate across disciplines, as well as a proven track record in troubleshooting and solving technical challenges related to downstream processes.
