Key Responsibilities
As a Rehabilitation Specialist, you are essential in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical challenges or injuries. Your expertise in movement science and rehabilitation enables you to create tailored treatment strategies that assist patients in recovering functionality, alleviating pain, and improving mobility. Below is a summary of your primary responsibilities:
- Thorough Evaluation: Conduct clinical assessments and relevant diagnostic evaluations to identify impairments, functional limitations, and contributing factors, providing a comprehensive understanding of each patient's condition.
- Development and Execution of Treatment Plans: Design personalized treatment protocols based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices. Utilize a range of interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and patient education to address impairments, enhance functionality, and promote overall wellness.
- Hands-On Therapy and Therapeutic Techniques: Implement manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and manual stretching to resolve musculoskeletal issues and improve tissue flexibility. Additionally, prescribe therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and neuromuscular re-education to enhance strength, flexibility, and coordination.
- Pain Management and Treatment Modalities: Customize the application of treatment modalities to meet each patient's needs, carefully monitoring their responses and adjusting treatment parameters as necessary.
- Functional Rehabilitation and Training: Guide patients through functional mobility training, gait training, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining to improve their ability to perform essential tasks and engage in meaningful activities. Incorporate real-life scenarios and environmental modifications to facilitate the transfer of skills to home and community environments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current license/certification in the state of practice
