Job Summary
The NC Department of Transportation is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to provide office support assistance to multiple Maintenance Staff. This is a key role that requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to multiple Maintenance Staff, including typing forms, correspondence, and data entry.
- Assist the public with inquiries and problems by telephone and personal office contact.
- Process monthly reports in SAP/Excel and other general office duties as required.
- Transfer weekly payroll using the SAP/BEACON operating systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of related administrative experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Access, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills, including resolving customer issues.
- Ability to interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to complete and maintain records and reports.
- Ability to write clear and concise letters using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
Working Conditions
This position is located in the Duplin County Maintenance Unit. The employee in this position will work in a fast-paced office environment and will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
