Role Responsibilities

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for various tasks that ensure adherence to inventory protocols, accuracy, and reconciliation of stock levels. A key element of success in this role is the ability to collaborate effectively with representatives from multiple departments, including Operations, Materials, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Consumer Support, and Engineering, to guarantee the accuracy of submitted documentation and resolve inventory-related challenges.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting scheduled inventory cycles within designated teams (Warehouse, Fabrication, and/or Manufacturing) to maintain overall inventory accuracy throughout the year.
  • Serving as the primary contact for auditors, providing necessary demonstrations and documentation for the Inventory Control department.
  • Performing unscheduled cycle counts and investigating discrepancies to identify root causes.
  • Utilizing judgment and process knowledge to engage with functional teams for potential material or process adjustments before making system updates.
  • Managing warehouse receipts and short ship investigations, ensuring compliance with established processes and documentation requirements.
  • Communicating effectively with warehouse leads and other departments to resolve discrepancies in inventory and vendor stock.
  • Monitoring inbound deliveries and addressing any issues related to missed receipts or errors.
  • Analyzing discrepancies within interim bins and directing warehouse personnel as needed during investigations.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to handle moderately complex issues under general supervision while possessing a solid understanding of inventory control principles.

Essential Skills Include:

  • Basic knowledge of SAP, EWM, IM, MII, ME, COOIS, and COGI as they relate to inventory control.
  • Understanding of BOMs and routings to ensure accurate data entry in SAP.
  • Familiarity with T-codes, material movement types, and material master reading.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Smart Sheets.
  • Ability to prepare and lead meetings, maintaining focus on objectives and following up on action items.
  • Judgment skills to correct inventory variances effectively.
  • Commitment to staying informed on inventory and materials management processes.Benefits
