Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for managing daily operations, including staff scheduling, nursing assignments, and patient care coordination. This role includes:
- Leading the patient admission process, which encompasses assessments and care plan development.
- Updating weekly care plans and participating in team conferences.
- Making shift assignments and managing staff call-outs to ensure adequate coverage.
- Communicating effectively with staff to maintain smooth operations during shifts.
- Monitoring patient care through observations and assessments, responding to urgent requests as necessary.
In this role, you will create a high-performance environment through positive leadership, supporting staff needs, and fostering effective communication. You will provide nursing care in collaboration with physicians, adhering to established nursing standards and policies. It is essential to ensure all staff are informed of policies and procedures, documenting accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of current healthcare trends and meet competency expectations.
- Assist in competency checks and provide training to staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited/approved School of Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
- Current Georgia Registered Nursing License (RN) or a qualifying multi-state compact license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire or within six months of hire.
Required Minimum Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in team leadership and patient care is required.
Required Minimum Skills:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Ability to leverage technology to enhance clinical care and possess basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Capability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
- Exceptional time management skills, utilizing evidence-based practices and strong critical thinking abilities.
