The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is currently in search of a Full-Time Medical Social Worker to join our Pediatric Specialty Hospital. This role entails a commitment of 40 hours per week, including two weekend shifts each month.

Our dedicated Social Work team delivers essential social services to patients and their families within the Pediatric Specialty Hospital, tailored to meet their unique social, psychological, and economic needs. The Medical Social Worker plays a vital role in assisting families of hospitalized children by providing support and resources throughout their stay, ensuring a safe transition home. Additionally, this position may involve serving patients and families at Child's Way, our daycare center for medically fragile children, as needed.

Qualifications required for this role include:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent knowledge
  • A minimum of two years of social work experience, demonstrating the application of social work skills and familiarity with local social service agencies
  • Current certification as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Clearances under Act 33 and 34
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges and address them using available resources and counseling skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assess patient and family needs, provide social and psychological counseling, and collaborate effectively with hospital personnel and external agencies

Compensation: $28-38 Hourly Wage
