Overview:
The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide essential Early Intervention services to children from birth to age 3. This role involves delivering therapy in a home-based setting within the community, focusing on the unique developmental needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  1. Implementing Early Intervention services in accordance with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  2. Scheduling flexibility to accommodate therapy sessions during evenings and weekends as required.
  3. Conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing treatment plans, and executing therapy sessions while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  4. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation for all patient interactions.
  5. Engaging in effective communication with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care.
  6. Participating in mandatory staff meetings and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  7. Continuing professional development through workshops and educational opportunities.
  8. Providing mentorship and guidance to students in clinical education settings.
  9. Completing additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  1. A degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program with 3-5 years of experience in pediatric therapy, preferably in Early Intervention.
  2. A valid Occupational Therapy License in Pennsylvania and current NBCOT certification.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and communicate with families.
  4. Experience in creating developmental and feeding treatment plans.
  5. Proficiency in electronic documentation and familiarity with computer systems.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to:

  1. Deliver therapy services for a minimum of eight hours daily.
  2. Engage in moderate physical activities, including maneuvering therapy equipment and assisting children in various positions.
  3. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  4. Communicate professionally with staff and families.
  5. Operate medical equipment and transportation for local travel related to job duties.
  6. Exhibit strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $50.00.
