Position Overview:
The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center is in search of a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide essential Early Intervention services to children from birth to age 3. This role involves delivering home-based therapy in the designated service areas. The Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in executing services aligned with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Key Responsibilities:
Therapists will have the flexibility to manage their schedules and will have opportunities for collaboration with other professionals, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and developmental specialists. Office space will be provided for necessary administrative tasks related to patient caseloads.

Essential Duties Include:

  1. Scheduling Early Intervention sessions during evenings and weekends as required.
  2. Conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, implementing therapy, and ensuring thorough documentation.
  3. Adhering to safety protocols while delivering Occupational Therapy services.
  4. Completing all required documentation within specified timeframes.
  5. Providing treatment consistent with best practices and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  6. Facilitating clear communication with patients, families, and medical team members.
  7. Participating in mandatory staff meetings.
  8. Engaging in professional development through continuing education opportunities.
  9. Contributing to the clinical education of students as appropriate.
  10. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program with 3-5 years of experience in pediatric therapy, preferably in Early Intervention.
  2. Current Occupational Therapy License in Pennsylvania.
  3. Active NBCOT certification.
  4. Ability to proficiently execute various treatment protocols.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
  6. Experience in creating developmental and feeding treatment plans.
  7. Proficient in using computers for timely electronic documentation.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Capability to deliver therapy services for a minimum of eight hours daily.
  2. Ability to engage in moderate physical activities, including maneuvering therapy equipment and assisting children in various positions.
  3. Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  4. Professional communication skills to interact courteously with staff and families.
  5. Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and technology.
  6. Ability to travel locally for work-related duties.
  7. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Exhibiting professional behavior at all times.
Compensation:
$50.00 per hour
