Description

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center is looking for a Pediatric Therapy Specialist to join our team. This role involves delivering Early Intervention services to children from birth to age 3 within designated communities. The Pediatric Therapy Specialist will be tasked with executing services in alignment with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Therapists will have the flexibility to manage their own schedules and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and developmental specialists. Office facilities will be available for necessary administrative tasks related to patient caseloads. Candidates must reside in the Pittsburgh area or nearby.

Requirements

  1. Flexibility to schedule Early Intervention sessions during evenings and weekends as required.
  2. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, implementation, consultation, documentation, follow-up, and discharge planning.
  3. Ability to apply Occupational Therapy techniques while adhering to all safety protocols for both the therapist and the patient.
  4. Completion of required documentation for all patients within specified timeframes.
  5. Services provided must align with best practices, evidence-based methodologies, and comply with all relevant policies and HIPAA regulations.
  6. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  7. Participate in mandatory staff meetings.
  8. Commit to professional development through continuing education opportunities.
  9. Engage in the clinical education of students as appropriate.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program with 3-5 years of experience working with pediatric patients, preferably in Early Intervention.
  2. Current Occupational Therapy License in Pennsylvania.
  3. Current NBCOT certification.
  4. Ability to master various treatment protocols.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and healthcare team members.
  6. Experience in developing treatment and feeding plans.
  7. Proficient in using computers for timely electronic documentation.
Functional Requirements:
  1. Ability to provide therapy services for a minimum of eight hours per day.
  2. Capacity to engage in moderate physical activities, including maneuvering therapy equipment and assisting children in various positions.
  3. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  4. Professional and courteous communication with staff and families.
  5. Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and technology.
  6. Ability to travel locally for work-related duties.
  7. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Exhibit professional behavior at all times.
Compensation:

$50.00 per hour
