Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Representative to join our team at Fuse3 Solutions. As a Patient Account Representative, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient accounts, handling billing inquiries, processing insurance claims, and ensuring timely and accurate payment collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and review patient invoices, statements, and bills.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, explaining charges, and providing payment options.
- Handle disputes, discrepancies, and billing errors with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims to various carriers and government agencies.
- Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims, resolving any issues promptly.
- Coordinate payment arrangements and negotiate payment plans with patients when necessary.
- Initiate and manage the collections process for overdue accounts in compliance with regulations.
- Generate regular reports on accounts receivable, outstanding balances, and revenue trends.
- Adhere to relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and billing guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments such as billing, finance, and clinical staff to resolve complex billing issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Patient Account Representative or in a similar medical billing and collections role is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with insurance verification, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures.
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing codes (e.g., CPT, ICD-10) and insurance plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.
- Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving billing discrepancies.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
Compensation:
$18-22/hr dependent on education and experience
