Key Responsibilities:
In this essential position, you will be part of the Packaging Engineering team within Combination Product Operations (CPO) at Amgen.
- Utilize principles of physics, engineering, and chemistry, along with advanced materials science knowledge, to evaluate, design, qualify, and implement packaging components and systems.
- Conduct assessments and make recommendations regarding new packaging materials for both large and small molecule products.
- Address complex material-related challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Develop test protocols, carry out technical evaluations, and prepare technical assessment reports to support selected materials.
- Create Technical Specifications and represent Final Product Technologies as necessary.
- Facilitate technology transfer from clinical to commercial stages or between sites for packaging components and processes.
- Manage project timelines to ensure all initiatives are completed within designated deadlines.
- Lead discussions and present innovative packaging concepts and designs to the Product Development team.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards, collaborating with QA and Regulatory teams to implement necessary changes.
- Engage in Pre-Approval Inspections (PAI) and liaise with regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research, QA/QC, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Regulatory, during pre-commercial and commercial phases.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A high school diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 8 years, or a Bachelor's degree with 4 years, or a Master's degree with 2 years, or a Doctorate.
- Preferred: A Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, along with 7+ years of packaging engineering experience, including 4+ years in the Pharma/Bio sector.
- Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
