Job Summary:

The Senior Packaging Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and qualifying packaging components and systems for our pharmaceutical products. This role requires a strong understanding of materials science, packaging manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and recommend new packaging materials for large and small molecule products
  • Assess and resolve complex problems related to materials and packaging
  • Develop and implement test protocols, technical evaluations, and reports to support material selection
  • Write technical specifications and represent final product technologies
  • Transfer technology from clinical to commercial or from site to site for packaging components and equipment processes
  • Prioritize projects to ensure timely completion
  • Lead and present new packaging ideas and concepts to the Product Development team
  • Ensure cGMP and regulatory compliance, and implement change control procedures
  • Participate in Pre-Approval Inspections and interact with regulatory bodies as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of experience in packaging engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Associates degree and 8 years of experience in packaging engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience in packaging engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Masters degree and 2 years of experience in packaging engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in packaging engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field and 7+ years of packaging engineering experience and 4+ years in the Pharma/Bio industry
  • Leadership skills and ability to work in teams or lead project teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
