Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacy Ambulatory Liaison to join our team at Brown University Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring seamless transitions of patient care, and promoting the growth of our pharmacy patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a friendly and helpful nature when interacting with customers, patients, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain and support pharmacy interdepartmental relationships to ensure efficient patient care transitions.
  • Participate in the growth of our pharmacy patient population through recruitment and outreach efforts.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding medication availability, cost, and refill authorization processes.
  • Provide education and support to patients on our Specialty Drug Patient Management Program.
  • Protect and maintain customer confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Collect and enter patient data into our systems to ensure accurate charging and insurance billing.
  • Encourage patient retention through individual relationships and proactive outreach efforts.
  • Assist patients in resolving identified problems and referring them to pharmacists as needed.
  • Conduct benefits investigations and secure therapy-related financial assistance for patients.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new staff members.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent degree required; completion of one to two years of college preferred.
  • Current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or one-year licensed pharmacy technician work experience.
  • Strong customer service presence, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain pharmacy ambulatory liaison competency requirements within 3 months of hire.
