Position Summary:
As a Culinary Specialist II, you will elevate your culinary expertise in a prestigious setting. This role is perfect for those looking to advance their career in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Compensation: $24.15/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes for dining and catering services, adhering to the highest standards of quality.
  • Ensure all food items are labeled and rotated according to established procedures.
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards consistently.
  • Fulfill special requests and customize orders as needed.
  • Prepare items in advance while accurately estimating needs to minimize waste.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage of perishables.
  • Portion food items accurately based on station assignments.
  • Assist in managing food costs and minimizing waste through effective planning.
  • Check inventory levels and prepare accordingly for service.
  • Assist in maintaining buffet stations and ensuring they are well-stocked.
  • Support the preparation of ingredients for the next shift.
  • Return unused food items to designated storage, ensuring proper labeling and dating.
  • Respond positively to management requests within your capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
  • Capability to interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
  • Experience working on various cooking stations including carving, pasta, omelet, and stir fry.
  • Ability to participate in all banquet functions.
  • Proficient in preparing and handling meats prior to cooking.
  • Skilled in washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Experience in baking, broiling, sautéing, and steaming various foods.
  • Knowledge of measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
  • Basic proficiency in English is required.
