This role is essential in the creation, enhancement, and upkeep of innovative hardware engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a diverse team to strategize, design, and implement large-scale industrial projects within the power generation industry.
- Conduct mechanical design, perform hand calculations, prepare technical documentation, and establish analysis criteria for various components.
- Design and evaluate tanks, pressure vessels, and similar structures.
- Integrate multiple mechanical systems and components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Engage in the physical assembly and testing of hardware prototypes, confirming adherence to design specifications.
- Create fixtures and tooling to facilitate assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Oversee project management tasks, including scheduling, resource distribution, and budget management, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Enhance designs for manufacturability, considering assembly techniques, tolerances, and reducing manufacturing complexities.
- Contribute to the design of reactor internals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A Master's degree is highly desirable.
- 4-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering or design focused on innovative product development, research and development, manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is not mandatory.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and finite element analysis tools.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in materials selection, stress analysis, and thermal design.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation in mechanical design.
