Radiology Specialist in Nuclear Medicine

Job Title: Radiology Specialist in Nuclear Medicine
Basic Function:
- Employ radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to conduct diagnostic evaluations, including radionuclide imaging of various organs and systems within patients.
- Aid in dynamic assessments, analysis of bodily fluids and tissues, and radio-assays.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with certification from either the ARRT or N.M.T.C.B. in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Prior experience in the field of Nuclear Medicine is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare doses of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic applications.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients undergoing nuclear medicine evaluations.
- Greet patients and clarify procedures to ensure understanding and alleviate concerns.
- Operate imaging apparatus for standard studies and set up imaging devices accordingly.
- Conduct routine nuclear medicine dynamic and static imaging procedures on patients.
- Relay physician interpretations of tests to the appropriate hospital staff.
- Execute quality control protocols on all instruments and document status in the relevant log book.
- Perform venipuncture, separate blood components, and appropriately store specimens.
- Dispose of radioactive and contaminated materials in compliance with regulations.
- Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Exposure Control Manual regarding safety protocols.
Salary Range:
$38.59-$57.89/hour. Compensation is determined by experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will receive pay within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
