We are currently undergoing a significant transformation and expansion in our program strategy, maintaining our collaborations with various Private Foundations while also enhancing our engagement with Local, State, and Federal Government grants.
These funding avenues are instrumental in achieving our mission of ensuring that our Club members graduate on schedule with a clear plan for their future, lead a healthy lifestyle, and contribute to their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Writing:
- Identify and research private, foundation, and corporate grant opportunities for the organization.
- Craft proposals for assigned opportunities and ensure submission before deadlines.
- Seek funding renewals for existing grants in accordance with established timelines.
- Collaborate with the CFO to create and prepare budgets that support grant applications.
- Work alongside the RD team, VP of Operations/COO, and club leadership to develop program briefs for grant applications.
- Gather necessary data and information from Clubs to support grant proposals.
- Collaborate with other Grant Coordinators on federal, state, and local grants.
Grant Management:
- Formulate a plan to oversee grant programs organization-wide, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Submit reimbursement requests and reports as mandated by funding sources.
- Prepare and maintain a grant calendar.
- Ensure grant awards and invoices are accurately recorded in NetSuite.
- Monitor the receipt of grant payments in NetSuite to confirm timely payments.
- Assist the CPA firm with annual financial and single audit requests related to grants.
Grant Compliance:
- Participate in compliance visits for grant programs as assigned.
- Assist in preparing findings from compliance visits for presentation to Senior Management.
- Follow up on compliance issues at the Club level as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, Youth Development, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Professional experience in a nonprofit youth-serving organization, demonstrating skills and knowledge in key roles is preferred.
- Experience in grants management and/or proposal development is essential.
- Proficiency in technical and grant writing is required.
- Ability to effectively utilize computer and office equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime to meet reporting deadlines.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with the public.
Working Conditions:
- Community-based settings that serve youth, families, and community members daily.
- Regular interaction with Club staff, members, and external organizations to plan and coordinate activities.
- Travel for special events and field trips may be necessary.
- Availability to work weekdays is required.
