About the Role

Abbott, a global healthcare leader, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit in Westbrook, Maine. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing the utilization of personnel, processes, and equipment within Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply Lean Sigma tools for future manufacturing layouts, including process flow development, value stream mapping, time studies, line balancing, and waste reduction (material and labor).
  • Update and develop standard work, analyze HC vs capacity models, and incorporate 14 Step lean and MOS into facility infrastructure.
  • Improve quality, cost, safety, and delivery performance in operations using lean fundamentals.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and mathematical modeling.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Microsoft Power BI experience.
  • Experience with overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) data management, statistical process control (SPC), financial budgets/standards.
  • High degree of technical expertise and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Must possess strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
