Position Overview:


As a Field Operations Supervisor, you will be reporting directly to the Manager of Onsite Services. Your collaboration with Avantor's extensive Lab and Production Services team, comprising over 1,500 skilled professionals both on-site and off-site, will be essential in executing tailored, mission-driven laboratory tasks and research protocols that facilitate a return to scientific endeavors.


Key Responsibilities:


Your primary duties will include:

  • Overseeing daily operational management of the Avantor Services team at the client site, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Providing training and compliance oversight, while managing the Avantor staff to guarantee the delivery of exceptional service.
  • Engaging with other suppliers, senior stakeholders, and the scientific community to maintain continuity of contracted services by monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Leading and guiding team efforts while executing work as outlined in Statements of Work (SOW) related to client specifications.
  • Coaching and inspiring team members to fulfill job responsibilities and achieve or surpass established goals.
  • Managing open order status reports, customer metrics, departmental reports, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SOWs.
  • Conducting administrative tasks such as performance evaluations, succession planning, timecard reviews, and vacation scheduling.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED; an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a business or science-related field is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in customer service, purchasing, or account management.
  • Previous experience in managing teams is essential.
  • Forklift Certification and training in spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and Hazwoper are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GMP and GLP standards, as well as CPR training and OSHA Right to Know, is preferred.
  • Experience in inside sales and cross-referencing skills are beneficial.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in Information Access and ERP Systems, with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
