Job Summary:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology seeks a highly skilled Benefits Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality benefits services to its employees, retirees, and internal business partners. The successful candidate will manage a team of benefits specialists and coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of benefits specialists to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure accurate benefit enrollment transactions.
  • Coordinate with Associate Director, Health and Welfare, Director, Benefits, and Director, Communications on broad-based communications and major benefit change initiatives.
  • Partner with Associate Director on vendor management, plan revisions, and management of projects such as the total compensation statement.
  • Administer the Tuition Assistance Plan, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and identifying opportunities for technology or process improvements.
  • Support open enrollment system testing and maintain data standards and security in collaboration with Human Resource Information Technology and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years of management experience in Human Resources with a focus on employee benefits.
  • Deep knowledge of HR/Benefits systems and experience working with SAP or cloud ERP systems such as Workday or Oracle Cloud.
  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic and tactical contributions on cross-functional teams in a complex and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent customer service and decision-making skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications.
