Position Overview
The role is pivotal in facilitating the creation of precise, timely, and comprehensive responses to inquiries concerning Gas Operations. This position entails researching, strategizing, developing, monitoring, and directing data responses pertinent to Gas Operations. The individual may offer analytical and technical proficiency to assist with data inquiries, regulatory matters, and legal proceedings. The role supports internal stakeholders throughout the organization to guarantee the promptness, completeness, and accuracy of data responses and regulatory mandates, fostering productive relationships with external entities such as regulatory bodies, government officials, and customers.
This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing for work from a remote office as well as an assigned location based on business requirements.
Travel to headquarters for staff meetings is anticipated once a month.
PG&E is disclosing the salary range that the company believes it may offer for this position at the time of posting. This compensation range is specific to the job's locality. The actual salary provided to an individual will be influenced by various factors, including specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. While it is estimated that the successful candidate will be positioned towards the middle or entry point of the range, decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis considering these factors.
A reasonable salary range is as follows:
Bay Area Minimum: $102,000
Bay Area Maximum: $162,000
This position is also eligible for participation in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Political Science, or a related field with a strong analytical focus
• Experience with regulatory and customer service matters related to gas operations
• Proficiency in research, writing, and data analysis
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Comprehensive understanding of issues related to gas distribution, transmission, and storage, as well as gas operations.
• Familiarity with PG&E's gas business operations, including generation, procurement, gas transmission, distribution, storage, and case processes.
• Awareness of federal, state, and local government, political, and regulatory processes and issues.
• Ability to prepare complex analyses and recommendations to address policy, regulatory compliance, and rate-related inquiries.
• Skills in inquiry resolution, advocacy, persuasion, organization, and relationship building.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro) and experienced with information systems.
• Capability to solve problems effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance concepts, leveraging a strong understanding of technical directives related to Gas Field Service.
• Clearly communicates recommendations and findings in both written and verbal formats to internal and external stakeholders, including management.
• Collaborates with leadership across functions to provide relevant compliance information and guidance for decision-making.
• Develops and presents alternatives and strategies for addressing requests from various internal and external sources for information, including interpretation, clarification, background, analysis, and recommendations.
• Conducts data analysis and modeling to ensure alignment with operational metrics and customer experience standards.
• Identifies data anomalies and formulates remedies and resolutions to ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting.
• Prepares strategic briefing materials, summaries, communications, and recommendations for management, client organizations, and regulators.
• Oversees the execution, monitoring, and direction of corrective actions related to projects within Gas System Operations.
• Monitors and documents specifications, analysis results, and recommendations.
• Collaborates with leadership and project/team leaders to coordinate the status of plans and workflows for upcoming projects.
• May provide training, guidance, and instruction to less experienced gas operations compliance specialists, focusing on adherence to compliance work and monitoring project statuses.
