Audit Operations Supervisor

The Audit Operations Supervisor will manage the responsibilities of the Audit Department within the organization. This individual will collaborate closely with various divisions to understand the different systems and data flows that influence each operational process. (S)he will document procedural narratives and pinpoint critical areas for the implementation of internal controls. Furthermore, (s)he will provide training to each control owner to ensure effective performance and maintenance of these controls. This position is also accountable for developing the internal audit strategy to evaluate controls and communicate the findings to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute financial, operational, and IT audits to assess compliance with internal controls. This includes conducting risk assessments, creating audit programs, performing fieldwork/testing, and reporting findings to management.
  • Formulate risk-based audit strategies utilizing data analytics tools for planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Analyze processes and controls to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and collaborate with departmental management to implement enhancements.
  • Conduct process evaluations to assess design and perform testing of key controls to determine the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Document comprehensive narratives and create process flow diagrams.
  • Prepare and present audit reports summarizing findings, including observations and management action plans.
  • Regularly follow up with management to ensure the adequacy and timely completion of remediation plans addressing deficiencies and audit findings.
  • Occasional travel to various locations for inventory assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Internal audit certifications (CIA, CISA) are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in public accounting is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with testing automated/IT controls is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey essential information.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the department, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
