Position Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is in search of a driven professional to oversee geotechnical services from our Rochester, NY office. As a Project Manager within the Geotechnical Discipline, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating our geotechnical engineering operations across the upstate NY region and the broader northeast area. Your leadership will be essential in nurturing and guiding a team of engineers and special inspectors while collaborating with fellow Project Managers and Principals.

Travel Requirements: Some travel may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team of geotechnical engineers and special inspectors.
- Foster effective relationships across all divisions and disciplines.
- Communicate efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members.
- Participate in professional networking events.
- Develop strategies for business growth and service expansion, including cross-selling opportunities.
- Prepare proposals for professional services, encompassing project scope, procedures, and budgets.
- Oversee engineering calculations and design drawings related to geotechnical aspects of projects.
- Direct geotechnical explorations, site assessments, engineering calculation packages, technical specifications, design drawings, and special inspections.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and adherence to client instructions.
- Monitor budgets and fees, assuming profit and loss responsibilities for geotechnical projects.
- Review all project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and reports, ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- A Master’s degree with a Geotechnical Specialty is advantageous.
- PE certification in NYS or the ability to obtain it within three months is required.
- Proven track record in identifying, developing, and mentoring talent.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment skills.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, report writing, and project management abilities.
- Proficient in computers and relevant geotechnical design software.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and have reliable transportation to project sites.
