About the Opportunity

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator to join our team. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a critical role in coordinating and providing education and training needs specific to clinical systems pertaining to Operating Room and Perioperative services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with staff and clients to identify specific training and educational needs for clinical staff and practitioners related to patient care in the perioperative setting.
  2. Develop and implement competencies, tools, programs, and curriculum designed to meet educational and training needs of perioperative clinical staff and practitioners, incorporating standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice for best practice.
  3. Implement orientation programs for new clinical employees.
  4. Design orientation programs for new employees.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop educational materials and programs.
  6. Continuously monitor and report effectiveness of programs and tools implemented, revising as needed based on organizational feedback and patient outcomes.
  7. Communicate clearly and consistently with peers, department leadership, clinical staff, and patients.
  8. Serve as a role model for embracing organizational change and process improvement.
  9. Utilize various presentation and facilitation skills to deliver content specific to educational needs.
  10. Ability to set and meet objectives and complete work with accuracy and within organizational time frames.
  11. Participate in unit and organizational quality improvement processes.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  13. Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
Requirements
  • Five years of nursing experience.
  • Two years of Operating Room nursing experience.
Education and Certification
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room certification (CNOR) preferred.
